The objectives of the Prenatal Alcohol Exposure (PAE) initiative are to identify correlates of drinking before and during pregnancy to further inform prevention strategies and to assess the impact of alcohol consumption on birthweight and gestational age.

Harmonization Study Design

The PAE project is composed of 5 Canadian mother child cohorts : 3D Study – Design, Develop, Discover (Quebec), All Our Babies and All Our Families (Alberta), Alberta Pregnancy Outcomes and Nutrition (Alberta), Family Atherosclerosis Monitoring in Early Life (Ontario), and Ontario Birth Study (Ontario).


PAE Harmonization Project population

Participants were recruited by the 5 cohorts participating in the harmonization project. The project includes over 11,000 participants from Canada.
