Atlantic Partnership for Tomorrow's Health
The two primary objectives of Atlantic PATH are:
* To develop a databank containing health and health-related measures, as well as biological samples; and
* To encourage and facilitate the use of the databank by researchers, with an emphasis on cancer aetiology and other chronic disease.

From baseline recruitment between 2009 and 2015, participants have consented to be followed over a 30-year period. Data will be collected actively and passively at regular intervals. The first online follow-up questionnaire was implemented in the fall of 2016.

The Atlantic PATH cohort consists of men and women aged between 30 and 74 years old and residing in Canadian Atlantic provinces (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador).

Recruitment used a range of outreach activities, including invitations from the Provincial Health Insurance provider (Nova Scotia only), advertising, media coverage, community and workplace events, incentive programmes (e.g. Airmiles) and community champions who encouraged their friends and families to participate.
