Study of Abnormalities Related to the Development of Self-Consciousness as a Neurodevelopmental Edophenotype of Risk for Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder or Recurrent Major Depression
The objectives of the study are:
* To determine whether neurodevelopmental abnormalities related to self-consciousness may be candidates as a risk neurodevelopmental endophenotype in children at family risk for major psychiatric disorders (MPDs) namely schizophrenia, bipolar disorder or recurrent major depression, when compared to healthy control children.
* To investigate the nature of possible neurodevelopmental abnormalities related to self-awareness to better understand how they might contribute to the psychopathophysiology of these illnesses by linking them to other clinical, cognitive and biological markers.
