COVID CommUNITY South Asian: Investigating Vaccine Access, Immunogenicity, Effectiveness, and Safety among South Asians in Ontario and British Columbia
The objectives of this study are:
* To determine the frequency of SARS-CoV-2 infections from the onset of the pandemic to present,
* To determine the proportion who have been offered and/or received a COVID-19 vaccine,
* To determine the immunogenicity in response to SARS-CoV-2 infection and/or vaccination,
* To determine the proportion who have had a severe short-term safety issues attributable to the COVID-19 vaccine,
* To determine the proportion who are hesitant or refuse to take the vaccine, and the underlying reasons,
* To determine regional, socioeconomic, and health factors that affect infection and vaccine rates including occupation type, income, household density, and chronic disease co-morbidities (i.e. hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease (CVD) that affect COVID-19,
* To evaluate the use of culturally-tailored COVID-19 information tool-kits which contain information regarding COVID-19 transmission and prevention (physical distancing, masking, vaccines) through digital media analytics, social network analysis, and in-depth interviews of citizens, health-care providers, and community leaders.

Population
COVIDCommUNITY-SA population
The population is composed of individuals who self identify as South Asian (India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh) who are 18 years old and older, who have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic and have worse outcomes from COVID-19 infection compared to other groups who were recruited at vaccine or assessment centres and from on-going prospective cohort studies.

Participants were recruited for this study from de Novo recruitment from vaccine centres in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and Greater Vancouver Area (GVA) and by re-contacting participants in their on-going prospective cohort studies, consent was obtained verbally over the telephone, electronically via RedCap, or in-person. Individuals will be invited to participate regardless if they intended to receive a COVID-19 vaccine or not.
