The Dunedin Multidisciplinary Health and Development Study aims to investigate the health and behavior of a representative birth cohort focusing on mental health and neuro-cognition, cardiovascular risk, respiratory health, oral health, sexual and reproductive health and psychosocial functioning.

Study participants were born between April 1st 1972 and March 30 1973 at the Queen Mary Maternity Centre in Dunedin who were still living in the greater Dunedin metropolitan area three years later.
