Enquête de Santé Psychologique-Risques, Incidence et Traitement
Objective of ESPRIT is to study the etiopathogenesis of psychiatric disorders in elderly people, to determine life risk factors in older persons with a psychiatric history.
- To determine current and lifetime prevalence and incidence of psychiatric disorders in the elderly;
- To identify sub-groups of depressive symptoms;
- To describe modifications of stress responses related to age;
- To examine risk factors for psychiatric disorders and their interactions;
- To evaluate usefulness of a complete genome investigation based on haplotypes and of a pilot study on clinical pools based on symptoms severity;
- To find etiological models derived from multiple risk factors and interactions to explain disease onset and symptoms severity;
- To suggest, based on these models, future prevention and intervention strategies.
