Longitudinal Immigration Database
The Longitudinal Immigration Database (IMDB) was launched in 1997 and includes administrative immigration data for all immigrants since 1952 and non-permanent residents since 1980.
The objectives of this database are:
* To provide detailed and reliable information on the socioeconomic outcomes of immigrants after their admission, such as employment income and mobility;
* To connect short- and long-term outcomes with characteristics at admission, such as immigrant admission category, source country and knowledge of official languages;
* To provide information on pre-admission experience in Canada, citizenship acquisition since 2005 and details on the admission of economic immigrants.
Information on the study description is adapted from Statistics Canada, Longitudinal Immigration Database, 2021-10-26. This does not constitute an endorsement by Statistics Canada of this product.
