Italian Project on the Epidemiology of Alzheimer's Disease
The main objectives of IPREA were to define the prevalence, incidence, and risk factors of the preclinical phase of dementia (including Alzheimer's disease), analyzing also the transition to dementia and the predictive value of an extensive neuropsychological battery and of biological and instrumental markers.

- Supplementary Information about selection criteria
-
At the end of the cross-sectional phase, complete information was available and a diagnostic conclusion reached for 2985 subjects; 420 of them underwent also a brain MRI scan. Biological specimens were also drawn from a subsample of 2324 participants. All subjects identified at baseline as affected by cognitive impairment without dementia (n=1387) were eligible for the longitudinal phase conducted after one year (total number of participants=1103).
