Kids, Families and Places
The initial goals of the Kids, Families and Places Study were to examine the simultaneous influence of neighbourhood, family, and childcare contexts on preschool children’s development, and to identify biological and behavioural characteristics of children that modify how they react to these environments.

Since recruitment, participants were followed-up 4 times, when the child was approximately 2 months (2006-2008), 18 months (2007-2009), 3 years (2009-2011) and 4.5 years (2010-2012).

KFP - Mothers
The population is composed of multiparous women having given birth to infants in the cities of Toronto and Hamilton, Ontario, between 2006 and 2008.

- The women had to be English speaking, having given birth to a child of at least 1,500 grams, and having a child one or more children younger than 16 years old in the house.

The population is composed of the children of the mothers recruited in the study, born in 2006-2008.
