- The objective of this study was to:
- monitor health outcomes in the city of Turin since 1971
- to understand and to evaluate the contribution of socioeconomic inequalities to health inequalities
- to facilitate local decision making by informing stakeholders on the impact of social determinants on health.

The population is composed of all men and women who resided in Turin according to at least one of the last four decennial censuses (1971, 1981, 1991, 2001 and 2011) and who were at least 15 years old at the time of the censuses.
